After researching and analysing a range of costumes we've decided that the costumes we use are a vital part in the scenes, in order to show the audience and help them understand the different roles that each characters are playing.

Initial ideas
After planning out our initial ideas, we decided what will happen in the opening sequence and this a guideline to help us create our storyboards. We have learnt that you need an outline of your idea before you create your storyboard otherwise it might not be up to standard. We will put these ideas on to a storyboard to create our opening sequence.

Pitch feedback
The sub-genre is psychological thriller.
We will use the shots, for example, when Ryan is using his computer.
We will use the music to create suspense for the audience.
The house shows that the couple are financially stable and are living well. The alleyway shows the thriller side of the film where Amaris could attack Maya.
Amaris: stalker and madly in love with Ryan
Maya: Victim and Ryan's girlfriend
Ryan: Victim's boyfriend
Maya and Ryan are both entrepreneurs who have their own business of car dealerships. This will relate to the male side of audience because men like cars.
We could change the picnic into a morning walk considering the weather.
We will use the cleaning products when Amaris is cleaning. When Ryan is doing his work, he will use the books, laptop and his glasses.
The man that appears in the opening sequence is Charlie Lunan, playing Ryan Wilson.
Considering her bipolar disorder, she will try her best to take Maya down.
The characters will be portrayed as middle aged to fit our target audience of 18-25 year olds.
We could change our costume and prop ideas that have been said in the interview.
The plot could end on a cliffhanger leaving the audience wanting to know more.
There could be extras in the background when we go and shoot in public locations.
After looking into our pitch feedback we decided to change a few things that we had planned before, such as our costume ideas, plans between the two characters, like the picnic because of the season that we will be filming in etc in order to fit our sequence with our sub-genre.

Camera shots
We want the audience to know snippets of information but not too much that they know what is about to happen.
We want them to be asking the question of, "what happens next, what will she do....'
What we like about this shot is the lighting and the shot angle. This shot can be used in the opening sequence when it's showing the stalker looking at the man's girlfriend from far.
We also like this shot angle and the story that could be behind it. This could be used in the opening sequence when the girlfriend confronts the stalker.
Lastly, what we like about this shot is the framing and the fact that we wouldn't know who the person is; it seems mysterious. This can be used when the girlfriend is being dragged across the floor by the stalker.
After learning how to use different shots, we decided what type of shots we were going to use during the opening sequence in order to create effect. In our opening sequence we will use panning shots, long shots, extreme close ups, medium shots and other varieties. We could use extreme close ups and eye-levels to introduce the characters to the audience. We could also use panning shots when following an actors actions and establishing shots when showing the locations that our opening sequence will take place in.

Audience Research- TA
Out of the films on and showing at the moment there are a number of thrillers including:
The Girl On The Train- Thriller/Mystery
Inferno - Thriller/Mystery
Deepwater Horizon-Thriller/Action
The Accountant- Thriller/Drama
This tells us that the audience enjoy watching thrillers and that most people prefer coming to the cinema to see these thrillers on the big screen. The majority of other films at the moment are either family or comedy films showing that thrillers is one of the main genres that audiences are interested in at the moment.
By doing the audience research we learnt that people enjoy to watch thrillers and because family and comedies are more popular at the time by releasing a thriller, it could get spoken about a lot more because it is something different. In our opening sequence, we will make sure we do it in a way that would want the audience to know more because it seems like this is popular among a lot of films.

Learning How to Storyboard - Sadia
What went well with my storyboard was the use of detailed drawings to show what was going on in each shot and we also mentioned what type of shot it was. It would be even better if we mentioned the movement of the camera and the duration of each shot. In my next storyboard, I will put these into use by stating how the camera moves in detail and counting how many seconds each shot is.
This task was to help me understand how to storyboard in detail and i have learnt that you need to be very specific in the storyboard so you know exactly what you are doing. Now that i know how to storyboard in detail, i will make sure our opening sequence storyboard is up to that standard to ensure that we know exactly what we are going to be doing throughout the time we are filming.
