Audience Research-Neamh

'Taken 3'

I think the target audience is:
Age: 18-60
Gender: Mostly men but many women watch it too.
Class: working/ middle class.

UK film Poster

The poster uses bright red colour for the number 3 and the tagline 'It ends here' this stands out to the audience the most and attracts their eyes to it immediately. By including Liam Neeson on the poster it advertises the main lead role and shows the audience what kind of character he is going to be like. The gun shows that it is an action thriller and that it will most likely be fast paced. The dark background makes the font stand out even more and so it is easy for the audience to read it. Overall the poster is fairly simple however holds enough information like the name of the film, lead role and release date to inform the audience about the film as much as possible without giving away too much.

Social Media
Twitter is used as a marketing tool for the film. Twitter allows followers to see latest sneak peaks and previews of the film, images and makes use of '#Taken3'. With that hashtag users can have their say about the film and what they thought of it.

Official website
The official website has a very clever design, it allows users to interact and view; Characters, Skills from the film,  what missions they undertake, weapons used, videos, photos, about the film and partners. The site also allows you to buy it and also has direct access to other social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. The home screen moves on a loop of videos and snipers from the film whilst playing music that accompanies it to give effect.
 Official trailer
The trailer shows the audience the most action packed parts of the film whilst still trying to have an element of surprise and not give too much away. The trailer has a short voice-over of Liam Neeson, this adds effect to the film as it lets the audience have an insight into the character and his true motives as he is speaking directly to the audience.
