Similarites between 'Se7en' and 'Spectre'

Both opening credits give away hints of what the film is likely to be about. Both credits use quite dark backgrounds which fit in with the thriller genre and contrast with the white fonts used for titling.

Differences between 'Se7en' and 'Spectre' 

'Se7en' uses quite jumpy titling that gives a jagged effect which makes it look rather sinister. The titling also flashes in and out whereas 'Spectre' just has still titling.

Which is more effective for the thriller genre?

I think that 'Se7en' is the more effective thriller genre because it is full of more hidden suprises and extreme close ups add to the overall effect of the film as the audience feels very immersed in the film However, in 'Spectre' a lot of the shots are filmed further away and the overall look of the film is more sleek and sexy and tries quite hard to make the film look physically appealing.
